EPISODE 108 SHOW NOTES

I had the pleasure of having not only one, but two amazing friends of mine on my newest podcast episode. Kat Knight and Jaycie Shotwell are both phenomenal videographers, and they are the genius behind the special video project for the #time2heal movement we’ve been working on that will be released on 9-11-22 (just a few short days from when this episode is released).

Kat Knight is the owner of Kay Focus, a professional and creative videography business in southern Utah. Jaycie Shotwell is the owner and creator of Manifesting Renewal (also located in Utah), as well as a yoga guide who loves to capture important moments of people that will be remembered in her own heart-stopping, artistic style. These ladies came together with me and brought my vision to life; the end result was truly magical, and I can’t wait to share more details about it with you today!

The very beginning of the #time2heal movement.

In a nutshell, I was given the God download that I was going to be writing a book called ‘Truth and Dare: Daring to Live Your Truth in a Fake World (which will be coming out later in Fall 2022). Each one of the chapters starts with one of my stories that helped me understand that principle, and that truth in my life. One of them was about trauma, and one was about sex. I decided to get vulnerable in a way I’d never been vulnerable before, and put on the pages one of my stories that I never thought I would share with anybody. This was a very sacred story to me, and I have a lot of reverence and love for this story; I never thought I would share it in a public manner.

What was interesting is I felt compelled to share it with a small group when I was emceeing an event last year. I’ve honestly never seen that kind of reaction when I speak. I saw the power of that story and started to recognize that perhaps, maybe this story did need to be in the book. I did need to take the risk, and share this with the world.

Originally, I thought the idea for the video was going to be a promo video for my book. That’s not what ended up unfolding for me, and what I received from the universe though. It gives you enough that you can understand with your perception, and that’s exactly what happened with me.

All I knew was that if my story can help someone get past their trauma, or at least ignite a spark inside of them and let them know their life can be better, why wouldn’t I want to share that gift with everyone?

In today’s episode, we’re talking about:

  • How I initially connected with Kat and Jaycie for this video project
  • How the idea for my video even came about, and eventually what it turned into
  • What happens when we actually feel things in order to heal
  • Everything that actually unfolded during the filming of the video (with the actors and actresses and my part in it), from beginning to end
  • How we can work together going forward with the #time2heal movement

I’m so grateful I was able to connect with both Kat and Jaycie, and our collaboration on this once-in-a-lifetime project has been incredible.

I truly believe that when we start to take care of ourselves and we start to nurture and love, we have such a greater capacity. We stay in our lane, and we don’t worry. As a collective, we really just need to own our power. We are taking #metoo to the next level; that is where this movement needed to start, and now it’s #time2heal. If you feel impacted by this movement in any way, I implore you to start somewhere-however that looks for you!
